Gi

gi is a musician from Gadi (Sydney) who makes electronic music. Her exploratory sound design and asynchronous rhythmic programming maps the grey zones between ambient, techno and IDM. Following self-released sketches in 2022, and contributions to compilations by Comic Sans Records (FR), Pure Space (AUS), Twin System (UK), Companion (AUS) she released her debut EP on Altered States Tapes in October 2023 and follow-up liveset EP on Beyond the Bridge (Seoul) in March 2024.

In 2024 gi presented her debut album on Absorb (AUS) and launched the World of Knots label, while continuing to refine her unique style of warehouse oriented experimentalism, across live & DJ sets. Gigi is also a member of the post punk band, Optic Nerve, and her affinity for blown out, feedbacking and electroacoustic tonalities can be traced to her history in the Sydney punk scene.
