Noir Et Blanc

Meanjin project Noir et Blanc arose in early 2020 with EP [indistinct chatter] released through 4000 Records. The piano centric work is insisted by the name Noir et Blanc; translated from French as black and white.  French music and films are at large what inspired writer and producer Amber Ramsay to create the project.

Debut album ‘Wallflower Pedestrian’ (2022) offers an instrumentally narrated, conceptual and meditative journey. Repetition of simple melodies take influence from the works of Phillip Glass and Yann Tiersen, while dark synth tones draw from the likes of Radiohead and Nils Frahm. 'ROUGE' (2023) continues the visual narration structure of its predecessor, with a slight shift in focus to introspection and a more refined palette. The album features collaborations with spiritlights and fhae.

Spirit Lights

Joining Noir et Blanc is special guest Spirit Lights. A collaborator on the Rouge LP, Spirit Lights is the ambient electronic project of Joshua MacGregor. Finding inspiration in modular synthesis and sound collage, his collaborative work with Noir et Blanc has seen support from KEXP, 4ZZZ & Triple R. Joshua will release two albums on June 12 through 4000 Records: Spirit Lights with drummer Benjamin Shannon and ambient companion LP In Balance.
